ReadersThere are several ways to read data collected by a Cypak powered device. Depending on the communication software embedded in the CPK082, the customer may choose to configure the Cypak module as a standard RFID Active Tag and use a commercially available RFID reader or NFC mobile phone.Alternatively, the standard Cypak reader and CPX 186 Continua Converter connect to external systems with a USB connection. Near Field Communication (NFC)Cypak uses NFC to communicate short range between the reader and a Cypak powered agent, for example, a medication pack.NFC was approved as an international standard for short range communication in 2003 and is being used increasingly, particularly in mobile phones. . |
Simplicity The Cypak powered device is simply touched to the NFC Reader. There are no buttons to press and secure data transfer happens immediately. Reliability The NFC Reader contains no moving parts and does not require batteries when connected to the USB interface.. CPI – legacy connectionSome Cypak designs use the proprietary Close Proximity Interface (CPI). CPI provides similar functionality to NFC but, being proprietary, will not connect to standard NFC readers. It was developed by Cypak prior to the release of NFC to meet the need for a simple, reliable, and low cost interface. |
