Touch And Post

Touch And Post - TAP™ - the easy standards based Cypak solution.

Even older patients with no feel for technology can use Touch and Post™.  Simply touch your medication package to a mobile phone or Continua reader and the information is sent automatically.

Unlike Bluetooth, TAP™ works securely without any user intervention.  There are no links to set, no passwords to input, and no dropped connections.  Easy. Simple. Reliable. Standards based and future proof.

Cypak is expert in the application of various RFID technologies for smart packaging.  In healthcare and smart packaging RFID is increasingly used for applications such as monitoring, asset tracking, access control, and patient and carer identification.
Near Field Communication (NFC)
Cypak Touch And Post solutions use the industry standard Near Field Communication (NFC).  Over 100 million NFC phones have been sold in Japan and it is widely expected that NFC will be a future standard in the global mobile phone market.

NFC also works as a standard low-cost and low-power interface to PCs, home hubs, and a wide range of communicating devices in all global markets.  Reasons: it is easy to use, reliable, and low cost.

Other RFID standards
The Cypak platform also supports industry standards for High Frequency (HF)  RFID communication, such as ISO 14443 and ISO 15693.  The soft radio design also supports the Ultra High Frequency (UHF) standard EPCG2 (ISO 18000) while allowing easy customization to specific market requirements.

Close Proximity Interface (CPI)
Cypak invented the Close Proximity Interface (CPI).  an RFID variant which is even lower cost than NFC as well as being equally easy to use, fast, and highly secure.  When connected to a PC or phone, a CPI interface delivers automatic and secure contact with the internet, email, or remote data processing site.  CPI is a proprietary alternative but very low cost.

Active Tags
Most Cypak modules employ active RFID tags, tags which remain powered even when a reader is not present.  The active tag enables measurements to be recorded at any time.
