SecureTape

Cypak’s SecureTape solution is developed to meet the needs of the freight and parcel industry for a low-cost and convenient method of ensuring the packages are not opened by unauthorized persons on route to their destination, and that shipping has occurred in the right environment.  Apart from the risk of theft or tampering, many goods may be damaged by exposure to extremes of temperature or humidity. 		 The Cypak SecureTape solution enables courier and postal services to “prove” that goods have been transported safely and according to instructions.

The Cypak SecureTape solution is centered around a microprocessor with a unique indentification and non-volatile memory for data storage.  The microprocessor is connected to resistive loops and sensors printed onto the tape and logs events in its memory. The status of the package can be checked at any time using a standard RFID  protocol or Cypak’s Close Proximity Interface (CPI). 		 With a battery life of 5 years in storage mode, or 1 year in active use, SecureTape provides a practical and low cost solution to ensure the integrity of transported goods.  Where high security is required, state-of-the-art AES-128 encryption/decryption is provided to prevent electronic interference with the unique identification tags and stored data.
